Schönherz & Fleer / Rilke Projekt Salon Concerts
On the occasion of the 150th birthday of Rainer Maria Rilke, Angelica Fleer & Richard Schönherz have once again engaged with the artistic works and texts of the great poet. They are bringing Europe’s most successful and multi-award-winning poetry project “so viel Himmel” to the stage for 2025/2026. The Rilke Project features a compact ensemble, consisting of Richard Schönherz (piano), actress Nina Hoger (recitation/reading), Ali Neander (guitar), and Dominik Steegmüller (singer) from the cast.
Richard Schönherz and Angelica Fleer are known for their creative and prominently cast poetry projects, for which the artist duo continually receives top awards. In their latest Rilke project “… so viel Himmel”, they have delved once again into the artistic works and texts of the great poet. It is one of the most successful lyric events, unmatched throughout Europe.
The music for the well-known and deeply poetic as well as timeless Rilke poems was specially composed by the artist duo. They successfully navigate the challenge of giving Rainer Maria Rilke’s poems a modern interpretation, without sacrificing the poetic essence of his works. This project explores the profound emotional depth inherent in Rilke’s inexhaustible oeuvre.
“We have heard these lines hundreds of times; they never lose their shine, their strength, their beauty. No one finds such words for the states of the soul,” says Angelica Fleer.
Experience the full emotional depth of his work in a special, intimate atmosphere. A congenial interplay of song and reading transports you into Rilke’s “Wektinnenraum” and brings his art vibrantly and sustainably into the present.
