MIU, whose real name is Nina Graf, is a Hamburg-based musician who is conquering the music scene with her unique blend of soul, pop, and retro vibes. Her journey began with a bold move: she quit her advertising job, moved to New York, and performed at the legendary club The Bitter End – the birthplace of icons like Donny Hathaway and Stevie Wonder.

In 2019, she released her self-produced double album “Modern Retro Soul,” which reached number 1 on the German soul charts without label support and sold out the Hamburger Gruenspan. One of her songs was licensed for the American Netflix film “The Debt Collector 2” – another testament to her international success.

In 2025, MIU performed as the supporting act for soul icon Macy Gray at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and the Admiralspalast Berlin – a milestone in her career. Her live performances are legendary: she was the first pop act at the Hamburger Elbphilharmonie and captivates both soul fans and jazz lovers at festivals like Elbjazz and Jazz Baltica.

Her music is an homage to the soul era of the 60s and 70s, blended with modern urban beats. She processes personal experiences and societal themes in her lyrics, thereby creating a profound connection with her fans. The Hamburger Abendblatt aptly describes her as “the soul of Donny Hathaway, the charm of Audrey Hepburn, but also the depth of Amy Winehouse and the strength of Adele.”
